…reminds me of my loved & missed Grandma Jean. I clipped these blooms from the snowball bush in my backyard–grown from one of many different starts Grandma gave me when Jon and I bought our house. I remember the gigantic snowball bush in Grandma’s yard and I even remember bouquets of them in her home. The lilacs I posted photos of the other day were also from her (and also some from a mail-order nursery). Soon the peonies she gave me will be blooming–and I’m sure I’ll be photographing those, too! It seems as though I’ve returned to my roots lately. Way before I discovered the joy that portrait photography brings me, I was getting lost in creating & looking at images of my flowers. So, when I brought this bouquet in today, I couldn’t resist picking up my camera!

I’ll be meeting a very pretty little 10-month old soon (this weekend if the rain doesn’t wash us out), so you’ll be meeting her here on the blog soon, too. Have a great weekend, rain or shine!

Do you remember sweet little Maxwell as a newborn? Well, he’s done quite a bit of growing in the last 7 months and he’s on the go now, too! He & his Mommy–my dear friend, Amy–came up from Tennessee and it was a jam-packed 28 hours! No matter what I write to describe baby Maxwell, it wouldn’t do him justice. He’s such a sweet, social little baby. If you even turn your head his way, he’ll reward you with a big smile. His Mommy sums it up best: he’s special! I really enjoyed hugging on him and I ate up all those precious smiles he gave so freely!

Amy picked out the perfect clothes at Baby Gap for Mawell’s session! You can find them here: striped hoodie one-piece and short overalls. And, of course, the cute red knit hat was made by super-talented sis, Leah. And, no, she still isn’t selling her hats. I’m doing a mega-post because I could. not. decide. I’m sure I’ll be posting more later, too!

Can anyone guess who this mystery mama & baby are? I’ve been looking forward to their arrival and the fun has already begun. Here’s a sneak peek with plenty more to come!

…photos of things you love. Photos that make you smile! Here are some I wanted to share that make me smile. This little girlie is my niece, little sis to Henry (see previous post). Against all odds, I snagged a couple “keepers” of her at Henry’s party Saturday.

Wish I had these lashes….

Our lilacs are in full bloom. So, after I cut a bouquet yesterday, I had to take some photos, of course!

After finally bringing my bouquet in, I couldn’t pass up this photo op–the sun-flooded windowsill was begging for a vase of lilacs.

Alas, the lilacs are placed in their final display–in my living room!
