….because it’s so pretty I had to come share.
….because Mady’s mommy has had some not-so-great luck with sessions in Mady’s first year, so I think this might make her day!
Have I mentioned how pretty Miss Mady is? :- D

This morning I had a very enjoyable session with some of my very favorite clients! This little guy should look familiar as there are several photos from his newborn session & six-month session in the header & the baby’s first year gallery above. Words cannot express what an honor it was to have the privilege of capturing little Cash throughout his first year of life! He has such a sweet disposition (and I know where he gets it!). At one, he’s already showing those little boy traits of making car sounds (so cute!) and loves to play ball! And because I love these clients so much, I wanted to get a sneak peek posted for them today! I’ll be back after I have their gallery ready to share many more favorites!

This is certainly the largest post I’ve ever done–maybe even the largest post in the history of posts? :- ) It may be photo overload of my twins, but there were just so many I wanted to share that I couldn’t narrow it down any further. Believe it or not, I actually cut several from the post. And, I knew if I didn’t blog all of these tonight, I’d never get around to a 2nd blog post–I rarely work on my personal photos. sigh…..
About the photos: I took the twins to a new location I was planning to shoot at just to evaluate the lighting & test setups. It was an absolutely b-e-a-u-t-i-f-u-l evening. I didn’t plan on doing a session with them. After I got home from the gym, I literally just grabbed something out of their closet for them to wear and we left. They had so much fun playing, we all had some laughs, and I ended up getting some great images of them in the process! Now THAT is my definition of a perfect evening!

Jon and I say it all the time: these two are so lucky to have each other. I love seeing the twin bond they share and I love how they play together from morning to night!

Genuine smiles & expressions brought to you by Philbert T. Cat. (Brayden named him Philbert, I took the liberty of adding the T. Cat as in the cat.) This sweet little kitty, possibly a stray, tagged along with us throughout the evening. He was quite the affectionate lap cat, so I have several images of him sitting in Denae’s lap. The twins loved him and were all smiles! Thanks, Philbert!

Or, “Really Dumb Idea #387,426″ (Hey, honey, why don’t we take that minuscule baby tooth out into an endless sea of grass to get a picture of it?!!)
Or, “Baby Tooth in Grass = Needle in a Haystack”
Or, “Why I Was Vacuuming My Yard Today”
Ah, yes, there are infinite possibilities for the title of this post. The real kicker is, I should have known better. Just two nights ago, when we realized Brayden’s tooth was very loose & ready to come out, he was gripped with worry & anxiety. He peppered me with what if questions. In answer to his query of what if his tooth came out while he was eating, I gave my best reassuring pep talk about how some kids have accidentally swallowed their tooth, others have lost their tooth, and they just wrote a note to the tooth fairy explaining the mishap. I was sure to emphasize the happy ending of the tooth fairy leaving money sans tooth. In explaining other “real life” situations with happy endings, I was recalling reading this post in particular.
Fast forward to today. I was greeted upon returning from the gym by an excited little man proudly holding up a baggie containing that tiny little tooth. Before we headed in for supper, I decided, in all my cleverness, to take a few photos outside to document this rite of passage. It wasn’t until I was on my hands and knees painstakingly scouring for a lost tooth in a grassy jungle that I remembered the part in that post about that little guy’s tooth getting lost in the GRASS! Kicking myself. So, I offer this photography tip to other moms: No matter what, DO NOT head out to the front yard with a baby tooth in tow. Because, believe it or not, finding a baby tooth in a healthy stand of grass is mission impossible.
After surrendering to defeat, I took a few last shots of Brayden’s new smile before heading in for the night. He and I were both laughing when the first shot below was taken because he said “Mom, this sure was a funny situation.” Not only was I amused by his choice of vocabulary, but I realized the situation was pretty funny. Me and my two five-year-olds were combing through grass for a tooth. But perhaps the funniest part was that I really was vacuuming my yard, as a last ditch effort, in hopes of sucking up that first lost tooth.
Like Ty, we wrote that note to the Tooth Fairy. Brayden is counting on her to come through.
Ah, motherhood. Never a dull moment, is there? Happy Mother’s Day to my fellow Moms!

Fortunately, I captured this just before the unfortunate mishap:
