This session has been a long time in the making! These guys’ momma, Tara, first emailed me about a session for her 3 boys–ages 6, 4, and 3–early last year. I was sad to decline the opportunity, but knew a session with 3 little guys at those ages could be a real challenge for any photographer–especially one in her first year. I knew I would be doing no one any favors by committing to something I couldn’t guarantee the outcome of. Fortunately, Tara emailed me again this past Spring to schedule an October session for her 7, 5, and 4 year old boys! I replied “…at 7, 5, and 4 (plus 5 months come session time) we’ll be able to capture some gorgeous shots of them!” I had to laugh when she replied “I must confess, though, that I advanced the boys age to an October session (so you won’t get the plus 5 mos)!”
And, it’s a good thing we waited. This was my most action-packed session to date! I’m pretty sure these guys were in constant motion & going in opposite directions most of the time! They really kept me on my toes (and I figured out their momma’s secret to being so slender). In my opinion, the resulting images are the epitome of a lifestyle session–so full of life & joy!

First up, Abe. Seriously, does this guy look like he’s Hollywood bound, or what?
And may I introduce, Wes, the youngest & the life of the party. In nearly every single photo I took of him, he’s grinning from ear to ear or howling with laughter.
And Mr. Intellectual, Leo. Such a sweetheart and a joy to talk to! I half expected him to invite me to coffee sometime to continue our conversation. ;- )
But before any of the boys came along, there was a girl in the house: Crosley. I’m always happy to include the family pet in sessions, child(ren) and pet(s) willing. :- ) Tara, there will be a mouth-closed shot in your gallery, but this was my favorite because she looks like she is smiling:
And I’ll wrap up this sneak peek with photographic proof of some of the cutting up that transpired:
Tara, thanks for putting your faith in me & being persistent! I hope you’ll agree that these photos were worth the wait! More eye candy to come in your gallery!

When trying on new clothes before school started in August, I decided to do a quick, impromptu photo shoot with Denae. She looked so darn cute in her jeggings & tunic. You might think, judging by the photos below, that she’s a complete girly girl. That is definitely not the case. Earlier this week at supper when I asked “what was your favorite thing at school today” she replied “playing Ironman with Austin.” Right. Her favorite classroom toy? The tool set. Sheesh. I give up. I had my hopes pinned on a little girl that loved dolls as much as I did. She hasn’t taken up a single doll. But she’s sassy, sweet, sneaky/clever, smart, and lovable just the way she is! Not to mention uber cool…..
And, this is what she gave me when I said “give me cool”:
Love my little cool girl, school girl!
Stay tuned for lots of client cuteness coming soon! I have multiple posts slated in the coming days & weeks!
