fall, glorious fall! | indiana nature photographer
Posted on November 11, 2010
Finally, the post I’ve been wanting to work on for a couple weeks now is getting blogged! Those who know me and those that actually read my ramblings on the blog know that nature photography was my first love. Long before my twins came along, I was addicted to capturing nature’s beauty with my point and shoot. I literally developed entire roll after roll of nature photos. And filled albums with them. To this day, some of my framed point-and-shoot nature photos hanging in my home are still my favorites. So, whenever I get the chance, I give myself permission to ignore the to-do list and go out & shoot for ME! It’s so rewarding & fulfilling.
Here are some of my favorite fall photos taken in the last few weeks, edited while listening to some beautiful music that’s making me even more sappy than usual. Listen to Enya station on Pandora for gorgeous piano and celtic songs (if you liked the Lord of the Rings soundtrack, you’ll love the Enya station–the playlist includes several scores from those films).

This gorgeous color was over and gone all too soon! Almost all of our trees are now bare here in Southern Indiana.
We recently had the most incredibly beautiful foggy morning. Below, left is a fog rainbow–very neat to see!

And I’ll include this last photo for the sake of humor. This is what a compact economy car looks like with two kayaks racked on the roof. Works fine for us! :- )

These are beautiful! Makes me want fall back again.
I love the ones of the graveyard as well as the one looking up the tree with the yellow leaves. You are a true talent!
Beautiful!! Love the first cemetery one, and then the row of black trees, and the dew covered plant right after that! They are all just gorgeous though.
Lacey, these pictures are beautiful. I can’t believe it took you so long to finally get your butt doing this..i believe this is your calling. I look forward to seeing some more beautiful pictures soon!!
Thank you, Leah, Danica, and Hope! I appreciate your positive feedback on my personal work! That’s the icing on the cake for me when sharing photos I took for me. Hope, stay tuned, I’ll be meeting up with some little cuties this weekend, so more photos to be posted soon!
When will your 2011 Calendar be available for sale?
I’d like to give them as gifts for xmas! Love the fall pics!
Holy cow, these are so beautiful! I want to go look at them again and again!
Seriously?!?!? I can’t beleive I know the person who takes pictures like this. I thought skills like this were reserved only for National Geographic photo journalists. These are truly art! I think you should publish a “season’s” coffee table book. Let me know if you need an agent
By the way, the spider web is my favorite. Only you spot that!
Wow, you ladies are so encouraging! Thank you for letting me know you enjoy looking at my nature photos!! (That gives me a license to continue posting them in the future.) Lisa & Tara, should said calendar or coffee table book ever make its way into my hands, I’ll be sure you both get a copy! ;- )
Ahhh, forgot to look at these after my FB comment. L.O.V.E! You should look into submitting stuff for magazines. These are fantastic. Also need to say that my fave is the one of the dark almost black trunk looking up into the yellow leaves. Cool shot! What a beautiful fall!
Oh my gosh, the colors are just exploding off the screen (an iMac screen, at that–WOW!) You are just so talented!!!
These are all SO pretty, Lacey. What an amazing morning! Love ‘em all.
