Remember this session? I was in photographer’s heaven when I went back to the client’s home to help her measure & plan the portrait displays she wanted to create throughout her home. Lucky for me, she allowed me to come back to photograph it all on the walls. Their home is so gorgeous & was beautifully decorated for Christmas, so I had to take a few extra photos, of course! I wanted to share more of my favorite photos from their session, but that may have to be a third post as this is already an extra-large photo share!
The three portraits that are framed on the staircase wall above:
Love this photo that is displayed on the top of the piano above:
This canvas is right at home in their dining room–love how the blues complement the wall color:

One of my favorite rooms of their house–Tara’s office! It is perfection! She put this photo display together to feature several of her favorite session photos.

Cute & lovable little Wes was hamming it up again. He greeted me at the door & was chatting me up right away!

My next home will have window seats!!!
My absolute favorite room in the house–the sunroom! Hello, gorgeous natural light!
Tara created a gorgeous wall gallery in the master bedroom. Some of the frames are mounted on risers that extend out from the wall (I believe she got them from Pottery Barn?) to give depth & dimension to the grouping.
I’ll admit, I had a moment of pride when I was preparing this post and thought about all that I captured from the individual portraits, family photo, sibling photos, and even portraits of their beloved family pets, Crosley & Mags. What an honor to see them all displayed so beautifully!
Tara, I can’t thank you enough for everything! I enjoyed getting to work with you & your family and appreciate the opportunity to come back & photograph all your portraits on display as well as your gorgeous home! What a treat it was to pretend to be a Better Homes and Gardens photographer for a day (it is my favorite magazine, after all). Now, everyone that wants Tara to decorate their home, raise your hand! :- )

Is it just me, or did December race by? I wanted to post these photos before Christmas but never had the spare time to sit down & do a post. I’m thrilled to get back into the swing of things, reunite with my beloved MAC, and get caught up on much-needed sleep after too many late nights! So, amidst giggle-filled Nerf dart chases, a village of chattering Zhu Zhu hamsters, and a speedy little RC helicopter hovering overhead, I’m trying to steal a few moments away at my desk. Up next, I’ll be posting a peek inside a client’s gorgeous home to share how she is displaying images from her children’s session. Her holiday decorating was magazine-worthy, so I took a few extra photos, of course! Working on that post now…..
For this post, I wanted to share this fun & easy craft idea for kids! The twins made the cutest little chalk-drawn snowmen on black construction paper at school, which gave me the idea for these adorable little handmade Christmas cards.
Brayden & Denae loved making them & it was so quick & easy! They were proud to send these out to family & friends and I believe their recipients
enjoyed them, too!
I had them write “Merry Christmas” with a red marker on a plain piece of card stock. I then scanned that in, sized it down a bit in Photoshop and placed it twice (upper right & lower right) on an 8.5 x 11 canvas. After printing, I just cut the card stock in half horizontally and then folded to make two 4.25 x 5.5 cards. I cut construction paper rectangles for the front, applied with an adhesive runner, and used a rounded corner punch. As I assembled cards, the twins drew the art with a piece of chalk & then signed the inside with marker. We turned out 34 cards in no time!
After seeing these cute Reindeer Pops at The Idea Room, I thought I’d try my hand at making some for the twins’ classmates. I thought they turned out pretty cute & were relatively easy, just a bit time-consuming. I dabbed the end of the “antlers” with peanut butter & stuck them in the center of the cookie before spooning chocolate over the front & back & they stayed in placed really well. If I make these again next year, I’d probably do the Snowman Pops instead, since the Reindeer pretzel antlers break fairly easily.

And, just a couple random photos I snapped this month while doing some product shots & never got a chance to post.
The twins’ Gingerbread Twins ornament from Grammy:
While not my typical style of editing, I thought this photo called for a vintage look & feel.
I’ll wrap up this completely random post-Christmas post with a couple shots of my Dad’s wife’s Christmas tree.
I thought their living room had a “Country Living” feel!
Next post coming tonight or tomorrow! If you like eye-candy home interiors, you’ll enjoy this post! And if you’re reading this post after my month-long
posting hiatus, THANK YOU!! I’m planning a really fun contest/giveaway for my blog readers this winter, so stay tuned!
