Last year, after being contacted by a couple photographers about mentoring, I had the opportunity to do some phone consultations. Not only do I love photography, I also love teaching others. I’ve always enjoyed being able to explain things in a way that makes sense & really clicks with people! As a natural light photographer, my strength lies in getting great images SOOC (straight out of camera) & making best use of available light. While I can appreciate many styles of photography & post processing, I prefer a clean look for my own work. For the bulk of my portfolio, I keep my images very true to life rather than “transforming” an image in post processing with actions. In addition, I value being able to capture a beautiful image in camera, reducing my time spent post processing. Are you sick of trying to “fix” poor images in Photoshop & ready to grow your technical strength?
Prior to our scheduled consultation, I will have you submit a list of questions & topics you’d like to cover–anything goes from technical to business. We will squeeze in as much as possible in our allotted time. In addition, I encourage you to submit 3 SOOC images for critique. You’ll want to select images that you aren’t sure how they could have been improved or images that didn’t turn out how you envisioned. We will discuss what went wrong with each image as well as what could have been done differently to achieve a great photo! If you have a SOOC image that is technically strong but lacking an overall polished look, I would be glad to edit that image in my clean, simple style and share those steps with you. If you are a Mac user & would like to I-Chat for our phone consultation, I can also share my screen with you so you can watch me edit your image in real time!
I received a great response to the phone consultations I provided last year & really enjoyed helping other photographers have “lightbulb moments.” An Alabama-based photographer that has had two consultations with me generously offered the following testimonial:
“I can’t say enough kind words about Lacey Reimann. She is an outstanding photographer, designer, and mentor. I was extremely pleased with her mentoring services and would highly recommend her to anyone. She has gone above and beyond what I expected of her and I’m so pleased to now consider her a friend. If you are looking for something more in your photography journey, I wouldn’t hesitate to contact Lacey. You will not be disappointed!” –Brooke Busby, Brooke Busby Photography
If you are interested in having a phone consultation with me, email me at info@laceyreimann.com! I’m currently offering 1 hour phone consultations for 60.00. You may also add additional time to your consultation in half-hour increments. Full day, in-person mentoring is also available for those who wish to learn more & would like to shoot alongside me & process images with me! ***Phone consultations & mentoring are available for those living outside the state of Indiana.***
I’ll wrap this post up with a sampling of my SOOC images to give you an idea of where I am starting in post production:

If you’ve followed my blog for long, I’m sure you “know” cute little Cash (see here, here, here, and here for his most recent appearances on this blog). Well, Cash is a big brother now! He & his Mommy & Daddy welcomed little Miss Piper Elizabeth to the family on New Year’s Eve! And, like her brother, she was a little angel for me during our session!
She has the most gorgeous complexion! We’ll start with my favorite image from our session…
Piper’s newborn session was done in the comfort of her own warm & cozy nursery with plenty of breaks for feeding when she got hungry.
I have SO many favorites from this session including more poses, accessories, hats, & blankets for variety.
I’ll be posting a second HUGE post after I get all of Piper’s proofs ready!

Thanks again, Heather & Wes, for inviting me back to photograph the newest love in your life! She’s precious beyond words!!
