I’m finally getting to blog some photos from an in-person mentoring I did back in May!! I was so excited when Lori and her family came from Kansas. Lori was interested in improving her SOOC (straight-out-of-camera) images and, like me, she prefers clean processing and gorgeous true-to-life portraits that are artistic and outstanding for their genuine expressions, composition, and use of environment. We covered so much in the hours we were together from choosing great lighting and setups to setting a custom white balance, tips for keeping kiddos happy, and even how I process my images. Lori and I hit it off immediately and I was especially impressed that she knew the name of nearly every flower we saw–including my perennials outside my home. :- ) And, the best part? She brought her very sweet and adorable children to model for us (with Dad, of course, to babysit while we worked with one or two at a time). I loved the clothing color palette Lori chose as well–blue (especially aqua) and green are my favorites! ;- )
One of the first images I took, after the gorgeous Miss Ava jumped out of the mini-van, ready to model! I can’t help but smile as I type……

I think the color version is my favorite because it’s no secret that I’m a color fanatic. But, this black and white also pleases me:
And little cutie, Elise, and I became fast friends as I taught her how to scare away bugs and toted her on my hip. : D
I love her creamy complexion and wispy, light blonde hair!

Before Dad took baby brother, Jake, for a stroll, we had to grab a photo of this handsome little lug, too!

Ah, sisters…..a true gift!! I’m thrilled to have some upcoming sisters sessions–one of them on Monday morning!
The icing on the cake of this wonderful day was when the girls sent me off with hugs and kisses before leaving Jasper!! So sweet!!!

Not only do I love working with children and capturing beautiful images of them, but I also love teaching, demonstrating, and helping other
photographers learn! Lori, thank you so much for coming out to Southern Indiana to spend the day with me! I enjoyed every minute of it and
I know you are well on your way to getting better and better images SOOC!! Keep up the great work and keep on shooting, shooting, shooting!
P.S. Bring those kids back to see me some day before they’re grown, okay? :- )

Yet another great session with Cash and Piper! I had every intention of getting this post ready and on the blog Wednesday, but the day’s plans don’t always go down exactly like I hope for. So, I missed my goal by a few hours, but I’m pretty sure these cute photos were worth the wait. :- )
Can you believe how much Miss Piper has grown since her newborn session?? (If you missed that cuteness, you can see it here and here.)
Facebook fans have already seen this precious photo:

When you look at my work, I hope you can see that I not only take beautiful baby photos, but I LOVE babies. Make that LOVE, LOVE, LOVE babies.
And I equally love taking beautiful photos of them. I’m guessing many (if not most) women have a soft spot for babies.
But, there are some of us that can spot a baby from a mile away. :- ) We easily get sidetracked by cute babies while out shopping and try to talk to
them if we can pull it off without coming off as creepy. :- ) I know my husband and sister must get annoyed when they’re out with me, because
I point out (and gush over) every baby in sight.
I know this is a bit large for the blog and those with smaller monitors will have to scroll, but I had to go big so you can take in
every ounce of baby perfection!!
For those of you that love headbands for your baby girls or little girls, this one–from Dolly Priss–was not only cute,
but the headband part is so soft & stretchy and light–much more comfortable for little heads and doesn’t leave a mark.
Expressions like this melt me!
And big brother Cash is as cute as EVER! He’s getting taller and looking more and more like a little boy and losing all signs of baby!

Remember this photo taken about the same time last year (May 2010) at Cash’s 1st Birthday Session?
It’s amazing how much their family has changed in just one year!! :- )
I can’t think of a better way to close this post than with the perfect sibling photo of 2-year-old Cash and his 6 1/2-month old baby sister, Piper!

Well, maybe I should throw in this ridiculously cute outtake–of Piper chewing on Cash’s toes!! Hahaha!!

Based on my love for babies and joy of photographing them at the 6-8 month age, I’ve been working on some exciting plans that will allow me to get more little sweeties in front of my lens! I’m still getting all the plans and details together, so I can’t share it just yet, but let me just say it will be a can’t-miss opportunity for mommas of little ones that want beautiful, top-notch portraits in their baby’s first year! If you’ve recently had a baby or are expecting and would like to be added to the mailing list to find out more when I make the big announcement, please email me at info @ laceyreimann.com with “Baby Announcement” in the subject line.

Finally, a new blog post (and more to come this week)! This summer has been a busy one! I had this session the night before my family and I left for vacation. We just got back on Friday night and it was back to work for me! You might recognize these sweet little faces–my youngest cousins, Abby, Claire, and Drew. It was time for another session since “Drew Bob” just turned 3 years old! (You can see his steamy-hot July birthday session from last summer here.) We also included his camera-loving big sisters in this session, too!
I requested a blue shirt to show off Drew’s gorgeous blue eyes. : )
I can’t even begin to tell you how much personality and character this boy has.

Despite being the “little brother”, his big sisters find him entertaining, too.
They are always getting cracked up by him and squealing “DR-EW!” with amusement!

It’s obvious how much they adore him! He’s a lucky little boy.
He likes all the attention he gets from them and is always happy to make them laugh!

Of course, I had to get a couple sisters shots, too. These girls have always been magic in front of my lens.

After doing mostly morning sessions lately to beat the intense heat & humidity, it was a real treat to work with some gorgeous summer evening light!
And I’ll wrap up this post with just one cute little “outtake.” Drew is SO ANIMATED, that I was laughing just looking through all the images.
In a series of four consecutive frames, he would have four completely different (and comical) expressions. He’s a hoot!
