A custom photography session is for the individual that appreciates photography as art –someone that wants something more than the cookie-cutter, chain-studio photographs featuring the same backdrops and settings. The custom photography experience cannot be compared to department store or chain studios that invest in you and your portraits only the hour or less you are in their store. Every aspect from the service to the end product is different. A custom photography session is as unique as your child!
Before your session day, we will have a phone consultation to plan your unique images. We’ll discuss clothing, location, and session style. On the big day,
I’ll prep & load my equipment and any special props for your session and come to you or meet you at our planned location! We’ll shoot for 1 1/2 hours or more as I like to allow plenty of time to create relaxed, natural photographs that capture your child as they really are. Never worry about your child’s behavior–I’ve converted crabby children into smiling sweeties many times before. Kids will be kids and I not only know how to work them–I enjoy it! I ask parents to keep the mood light & upbeat–this is your child’s time to shine! In addition, babies’ moods and needs change from one moment to the next and we will accommodate those needs and go with the flow! You might be surprised that you and your child will likely enjoy a custom photography session.
After your session, I upload the images for first review. Then I begin the proofing process and cull your proofs to the finest images–approx. 25 to 30 choices!
I will select 1 or 2 of these images to give you a “sneak peek” on my blog. I will then go through each image to individually edit and enhance it to match my artistic vision. Approximately two weeks post session, you will be presented with a private, password-protected gallery of your proofs. I will be glad to assist you in creating unique custom art and designing wall displays. Upon receiving your order, I will design the custom products you ordered and prepare & size your ordered images for print. You will receive your order within 2 to 3 weeks from date order is placed; please allow longer for custom items.
